Impedance Compensation Method Considering Unbalanced Ground Fault with SFCL in a Power Distribution System

As the energy demand increases due to developing electric power industry, fault current becomes higher during time. A new approach is needed reduce a in distribution system, since currents influence other protective devices’ operation. To decrease current, superconducting limiter (SFCL) has been suggested. The SFCL no loss with effect on system because impedance only occurs However, can current; it causes trip time delay of over relay (OCR). Compensation methods for balanced have invented previous studies, while research unbalanced ground compensation are few. In this paper, method configured components introduced eliminate OCR. addition, removed from characteristic equation verify method, simulations carried out 3 types faults using PSCAD/EMTDC.
